I'm moving to Asheville. Where can I find a job in the arts?
Use the list of galleries and arts organizations and find appropriate places for your skills. Contact the appropriate person at the organization with your resume and be specific about what type of position you are looking for. Do you hold arts classes?
The AAAC provides a booklet of juried Teaching Artists to area schools but does not hold hands-on arts classes. There are many other organizations in town that do hold classes. More info: Arts Classes
How often do your exhibits rotate?
The Front and Back galleries rotate on a monthly schedule. The Boardroom gallery changes shows every two months.
When is the next call to artists?
The shows in the Front and Back Galleries are planned 1 year in advance, and the prospectus goes out in January. More info
What is the Urban Trail?
The Urban Trail is downtown Asheville's historic walking tour. Tours are offered Saturday's at 10:30 am and 3 pm beginning in April and ending in October. You can pick up a map at the Front Desk and take the self-guided tour at any time. More info: Urban Trail
Is there a group of artists that I can join?
The Artists Roundtable meets in the Boardroom Gallery of the AAAC the first Thursday of every month at 5:30. More info: Artist Roundtable
